SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – Three suspects charged in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Savannah College of Art and Design student Sean Giroir are expected to arrive in Savannah early next week.
John Adams, 20, Daniel M. Izzo, 18, and Alex Cowart, 21, are scheduled to be extradited from Sandy Springs, Georgia and arrive in Savannah Monday, November 1, or Tuesday, according to the Chatham County Sheriff's office.
Giroir, of Houston, was shot and killed Thursday afternoon outside his home at Barnard and 35th Streets. Mike Levi, 21, was shot in the hip and treated at Memorial University Medical Center.
SCMPD charged all the suspects with armed robbery – Izzo and Cowart were charged with murder.
SCMPD Major Crimes Commander, Det. Lt. Adams, said the suspects went into the house and took cash and marijuana. Giroir and Levi followed them to the car, where a struggle ensued and shots were fired, according to police.
The men left in a gray Honda that was traced to an Atlanta woman, who was an acquaintance of one of the suspects, according to SCMPD.
Police said that in the home they found: marijuana plants being grown, LSD, containers of ingredients to produce illegal drugs, a drug lab and a suspected explosive device.
Police are investigating the drug operation found in the residence, which was able to produce and distribute a large amount of drugs.
