HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Police say a violent shooting left two men shot and one man dead in Hinesville and police say the gunmen are still on the run.

The shooting happened on South Main Street in Hinesville just after 11pm Friday night.

Police say it started out as a robbery and ended in murder.

Police say friends often met at the scene of the crime to play cards. There were around ten people inside when the two masked gunmen barged inside and started shooting.

Orlejenadro Mark Smalls was found dead inside with a gunshot wound to the head. Darrell McKenzie and William Flemming were found with gunshot wounds, but police say they were treated and released.

"He was over there playing cards like he normally does. I don't know why this night had to be different," the victim's wife Felicia Smalls said.

Police say the two masked men busted inside the duplex and stole cell phones, keys, and cash. Then police say they started firing.

"We would like to know what happened to him. I raised him until he was two years old. I would like to know what happened to him," the victim's sister Wanda Washington said.

Police say the gunmen began shooting at the group even after they gave up their valuables.

"They were not resisting the robbery at all. Nobody was," Maj. Thomas Cribbs with Hinesville Police said.

If you have any information about the shooting, call Hinesville Police at 912-876-8211.
