SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The oil spill in the gulf captured everyone's attention and now it's immortalized in an Savannah area art gallery.
The Indigo Sky community gallery showcased pictures and sculptures of the BP oil spill, as well as other ecological disasters worldwide.
Artists were trying to show the relationship between people and the environment.
"It's rare that you hear of the creative voice speaking to this kind of issue. Typically, there's the obvious importance of the economical impact, the environmental impact, sociological impact; But there's also a cultural statement that needs to be made and this exhibition tends to bring that together," said Jerome Meadows, owner of The Indigo Sky.
A total of 84 works were on display, mostly from local artists.
