SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Many local teens took part in a skateboarding competition Sunday.
Many kids wore their best Halloween costume and skated the ramps at Woody's Skate Park. It is the only park of it's kind in Savannah.
The event was designed to show folks how positive and healthy skating can be for today's youth.
"People need to understand that skaters are not bad kids and they need to have a place too, just like any other sport to be able to prosper and do well," said Kim Griffin.
The group is also hoping to make the park a safe and positive environment for local teens in Savannah.
