BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) – Beaufort County is seeing strong voter turnout so far on Election Day.

Some voters are having to wait in line before casting their ballots.

Scott Marshall, executive director of the Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registration, said that voting is going smoothly throughout the county and there haven't been any voter issues.

He had originally hoped for 45 to 50 percent voter turnout in the county, but said that estimate could be much higher.

Hilton Head Island has also had good turnout. So has Sun City, which typically has strong voter turnout.
