Kingston defeats Democratic challenger

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Republican incumbent will continue to represent Georgia in Washington.

In the race for the 1st U.S. Congressional District, Jack Kingston will keep his seat in the U.S. House. He easily defeated Democrat Oscar Harris.

"I think there is a certain degree of fear on policies. People voted change in 08, but they had been appalled by the rate of change and size of change and now they want to get things a little more balanced," Kingston said.

This will be Kingston's 10th term as a U.S. Congressman. He was first elected in 1992.
