Safe Kids Savannah to hold car seat safety check

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Safe Kids Savannah is holding a car seat safety check on Friday, November 19 at the Walgreens Pharmacy at Abercorn Street and Tibet Avenue from 9 a.m. until noon. Safe Kids Savannah is an organization dedicates to preventing accidental childhood injury.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be examining child safety seats for recalls and to make sure they are properly installed free of charge.

The Coastal Health District reports that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury-related death among children ages 2-14 and the leading cause of death in children under 2.

The child safety seat check is being held along with the Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute.
