Middle school students honor veterans

RINCON, GA (WTOC) - Ebenezer Middle School held their annual Veteran's Day ceremony with members of the 165th Airlift Wing. They helped students, teachers and faculty pay tribute to those who have served our country with honor.

Tony Sutphin, receipent of two purple hearts, spoke of his experience serving as a Marine in Vietnam.

"Most of their lives are spent, if not physically, at least emotionally understanding what they've done for their country," explained retired Sgt. Maj. Tony Sutphin. "And it's a veteran who guarantees our Bill of Rights and our constitution because somebody, a veteran, is willing to pick up arms and defend."

WTOC's Vice President Dr. Bill Cathcart was there to help thank and acknowledge those who have been part of our nation's military.
