BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - The holidays are right around the corner and there are many families in the community who will need help to put presents under the tree for their children.
This week, The Salvation Army is taking applications for those in Beaufort County who need Christmas assistance. Last year, they helped close to 800 families. This year they are expecting an even greater need.
"We're seeing a dramatic increas in first time clients," said Kari Baldwin. "Do to the economy a lot of clients have either lost their job or their hours have been dramatically cut."
If you or someone you know are needing assistance this Christmas, The Salvation Army will be taking applications again Thursday, November 11 at the Salvation Army in Beaufort for those living in Beaufort County from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
