RINCON, GA (WTOC) - A car burst into flames on Georgia Highway 21 in Rincon bringing traffic to a crawl. Georgia Power was working on some lines near the fire and started yelling. Some mechanics at a nearby auto shop heard and saw the commotion and tried to help with what they had.
"Brett ran out with the fire extinguisher and I followed right after him, but by the time we got out there, the car was full engulfed in flames, near the tanks, so we just stepped away," said Jonathon Madere of Rincon.
The driver and passengers were not injured and Rincon Fire put out the flames while the Effingham County Sheriff's Office helped with traffic.
