WWII Memorial debt has been settled

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The World War II Memorial is now paid for thanks to three final contributions from retired UPS executive Dick Eckberg, the El Paso Corporation and the Atlanta Gas Light Company.

Dick Eckberg, who had previously given $25,000, pledged an additional $25,000 to WTOC's Sonny Dixon on Thursday mornning. The El Paso Corporation gave $50,000 and Atlanta Gas Light Company gave $50,000.

WTOC's Sonny Dixon made the annoucement during the Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Savannah.
