United Way Prize Patrol visits elementary school

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - The United Way Prize Patrol paid a visit to Guyton Elementary School and snuck up on Vanessa Pelfrey who won a year's worth of groceries by attending a United Way campaign meeting.

United Way 2010 Campaign Chair Camille Russo says that what Vanessa did is what the United Way is all about.

"Our message is that people who do good and people who help other people get some love back and that's what we were able to do today," Russo told WTOC.

Effingham County will be at the United Way's victory celebration on Friday. They are near the $8 million goal and are looking forward to going over the top this week.
