SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – A fire gutted an east side Savannah home late Monday afternoon.
Savannah Fire and Emergency Services firefighters were called at about 4:25 p.m. to a home near Georgia and Alaska Avenue. Firefighters saw heavy flames and smoke coming from the one-story house.
Firefighters say an adult and two teenagers who lived at the home were able to escape the fire without injury. The wooden home sustained extensive fire damage.
SFES investigators were at the scene trying to determine the fire's cause and where it started. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.
