BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) – Shell Point Elementary School parents packed their library Monday evening. They just learned that the school may be closing.
Beaufort County School District administrators told parents that budget cuts are forcing them to look at closing this elementary and the St. Helena Early Learning Childhood Center.
Parents say they weren't properly informed by the school district and plan on fighting to keep the school open.
A decision is expected by the end of next month. Parents are planning to attend the regular school board meeting Tuesday night to support their school and keep it open.
