Police warn drivers to remove cars before SSU parade

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – Savannah-Chatham metro police are warning drivers to move their cars from the Savannah State University's homecoming parade route before 7 a.m. Saturday.

Vehicles left alongside the streets after 7 a.m. will be towed to allow the parade to proceed. Side streets inside the perimeter of Liberty and Gwinnet streets and East Broad to Price streets will be used for staging.

The parade will go north on East Broad to Broughton Street, west on Broughton to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and south on MLK to Anderson, where it will turn west and disband, according to SCMPD.

Those streets will be closed at 7 a.m. to allow time to prepare the route for the 9 a.m. parade.
