SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Taking aim at a cure with some great music. Rhythm and blues band "The Sapphire Bullets of Love" was the feature act at the Shooting for a Cure Dance Party, to benefit the Susan G. Komen struggle against breast cancer.
The money raised at the event will go towards supporting women already diagnosed with the disease as well as providing education and mammograms to those at risk.
"It's fantastic to have a resource that gives us education that gives women medical help who cannot afford to get a mammogram. Women who do not know what a mammogram is or what a breast self exam is, that's what we're here for," said Elizabeth Myers for Susan G. Komen For The Cure. "We want to get that word out."
75% of the money raised will be used locally and 25% will go towards cancer research.
