GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) - Garden City police say a recent tip has them focusing their attention on an old missing person's case.
In March, 40-year-old Gregory Singleton vanished. However, his family didn't report him missing to police until May. At that time there was no reason for police to believe Singleton had been a victim of a violent crime, but in November that got a tip that changed their minds.
Someone told police they believed he'd been murdered. Police were led to a home on Cooper Lane in Garden City. They brought cadaver dogs to the home Monday and the dogs hit on something in the house. Police roped off the area, and photographed the home for several hours.
As police searched the home, the family of Singleton sat outside, hoping and praying police would find something.
Jestine Knight, Singletons' aunt said, "Seems like everything is coming to a close. I just hope that they find out what happened to him."
Knight says Singleton leaves behind a wife, four daughters, and a grandchild.
