BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - Volunteers in the Lowcountry are doing their part to feed the hungry this Thanksgiving.
The Kiwanis Club of Beaufort have once again teamed up with Bi-lo grocery store to help provide needy families a Thanksgiving dinner. Turkeys, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pies and all of the fixings were packed up and delivered to nearly 100 families in the Beaufort community.
"When you smell that turkey cooking, and the family gathers and all of the kids are there, that's good and every family should have that opportunity to do that. Any time we can contribute to that family getting there, we're going to do that," said Bob Semler of the Kiwanis Club of Beaufort.
Throughout the year, volunteers do fund-raisers to help raise the money needed for these Thanksgiving dinners.
