STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Senior citizens can have a tough time understanding the contact changes to Medicare, but Congressman John Barrow's office offered a helping hand on Monday in Statesboro.
People from the GA Department of Human Resources offered one-on-one help as seniors applied or reapplied in the annual Part D enrollment period. The seniors were shown the various plans on what worked best for them. Part D of the Medicare deals specifically with prescription medicines.
"I'm relatively new to the web and her proficiency was so much greater and it is a great advantage," said Carroll Thomas from Faulkville.
A mobile computer lab from Fort Valley State University provided the computer access.
Congressman Jack Kingston will also be offering a Part D workshop next Tuesday, December 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Center at Apache Avenue and Abercorn Street. Seniors are encouraged tp being their prescription information with them to help with the registration.
