SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Do you bleed Bulldog "red and black" or Gator "orange and blue"? The big game may be over but the competition continues at the sixth annual Georgia versus Florida Rematch Blood Drive. As of Thursday, the score is Georgia 84 and Florida 32.

"This has been a tremendous outpouring of the community over the last 5 years," said Diane Parker of the University of Georgia Alumni Association. "We are thrilled to be here."

When you give blood, your favorite team earns points based on the type of donation. The team with the most points is named "winner" of the 2010 Georgia vs. Florida Rematch Blood Drive.

"It's all for fun," said Parker. "Whatever happens on the grid iron, we can make peace off the field."

Donors will receive a free commemorative t-shirt and will have an opportunity to win one of two pairs of roundtrip Delta Air Lines domestic tickets.

"You don't have to be a gator fan or bull dog fan," added Parker. "If you're ACC or SEC, we'll take your blood."

The American Red Cross Southern Blood Services Region provides lifesaving blood to patients in more than 120 hospitals. Approximately 1,200 people need to give blood or platelets each week day to meet hospital demand.

The Rematch is being held Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 at the American Red Cross Blood Donation Center on Tibet Avenue.
