AASU to premiere 'A Savannah Symphony'

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Armstrong Atlantic State University's Savannah Winds Symphony will open its 2010-2011 season with a program highlighted by the world premiere of international composer Philip Sparke's newest composition, "A Savannah Symphony."

"A Savannah Symphony" was commissioned to commemorate the University's 75th Anniversary. The piece draws on the rich history, cultural and ethnic diversity of Savannah.

The concert will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Fine Arts Auditorium. AASU students get in free. General admission is $14.
