SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A car slammed into a tree on Savannah's south side, and the driver was nowhere to be found. Savannah-Chatham police responded to Montgomery Cross Road, near Sallie Mood Drive, at about 1 a.m. Tuesday and found that a car had crashed head-on into a tree.
The driver had already left the scene, so officer ran the plates and found the address where the car is registered. They planned to go to the home and try to find the driver. Officers say they suspect alcohol may have been involved.
