HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - It was another big day at the polls with General Election runoffs all across the state. One heated race is the Liberty County Sheriff's race between Steve Sikes and Warren Waye.
There was a slow but steady stream of voters at the Shuman Recreation Center in Hinesville. One encouraging fact is that more young people are coming out to the polls.
"I've been a poll manager for a long time, and a lot of the youth are coming in now, which I'm very proud of," said Poll Manager LaFayne May.
Workers say that most people voted early or absentee and that the weather may have kept a couple of people away.
