BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WTOC) - Hurricane season has ended and emergency management officials in Beaufort County say although there were prepared for the worst, they are breathing a sigh of relief knowing they did not have to activate any of their plans this year.
"Obviously, I'm quite happy Beaufort County didn't have any activity as a result of a hurricane. However it was busy. There was a lot of activity out there in our ocean. It was an above average year," said Beaufort County Emergency Management Director Todd Ferguson.
Ferguson says although hurricane season is over, they never stop planning. In fact, he says they are currently working to enhance their capabilities for next year using new technology.
