Four people are still in the hospital after a deadly six-car pile up in Beaufort Saturday night. It happened just after 9:30pm on the Broad River Bridge on Highway 170. Police say a Mustang loaded with five passengers hit an oncoming car, spun out of control, then hit five more cars before coming to a stop.
All five people in the Mustang had to be cut out of the car with the Jaws of Life. One man died, four others were rushed to Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Police say none of the victims were wearing seatbelts and alcohol seemed to be a contributing factor in the accident. Officers say no one in any of the other cars were hurt.
