(WTOC) - As of Friday morning, both Statesboro High and Savannah Christian stood just one game away from the state championship game.
By night's end, only one would survive.
The Statesboro Blue Devils faced their second undefeated opponent in as many weeks in Chattahoochee Friday night. The Blue Devils struck first on a one-yard score from Dequan Daniels, but fell behind 13-7 at the half.
In the second half, Statesboro regrouped to take a 21-19 lead late into the game, after Daniels found the endzone for another one-yard score.
In the end, Chattahoochee ended any hope of a Blue Devil Dome appearance with its field goal with three seconds left to win the game 22-21.
In Norcross, Savannah Christian found themselves in the driver's seat for most of the night against a one-loss Wesleyan team.
The Raiders continued their dominance defensively, allowing 13 points in their 28-13 victory.
Savannah Christian will now face Clinch County in the Class-A state championship.
Kickoff is 1 o'clock Saturday December 11th, in the Georgia Dome.
