SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Folks traveling back in time to "journey" through Bethlehem on the night Christmas began.
Savannah Christian Church are recreating the village of Bethlehem this week as a part of their annual Christmas celebration called "The Journey".
Congregation members dressed up in period costumes and took folks through the times leading up to the birth of Christ.
It's an interactive festival that the church hopes teaches people the true meaning of Christmas.
Cam Huxford, the Pastor of Savannah Christian Church says he wants to "hopefully lock into what this season is really about rather than the materialism, the hustle in the bustle, pacing issues that we all struggle with. This is an opportunity to slow down, think about some ancient values that's been a blessing to people for 2,000 years."
The Journey isn't over though, you can still check it out December 8-12.
