Ever since Evan was a little boy, he's always wanted to be a television news reporter. He broke into the business at the tender age of 15 and hasn't stopped since. Now he joins THE News as a General Assignments Reporter.
Evan was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA, and attended McNeese State University, where he served as the school's Ambassador. He was also one of 100 college students selected from across the nation to attend the International Radio & Television Society's (IRTS) Minority Career Workshop in New York City. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and a double-minor in sociology and theater, Evan began working as a news reporter and anchor for KPLC-TV, WTOC's sister station, where he reported on many big stories---including the devastating effects of the 2008 hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
When Evan is not telling your stories he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and simply enjoying life. His guilty pleasure is watching reality television and game shows!
If you have a story idea or simply just want to say hi, shoot Evan an email at ejohnson@wtoc.com. You can also join Evan on Facebook by clicking here.
