SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Business owners are making seasons bright with their window displays in downtown Savannah.
And for their efforts in the friendly competition of who had the best decorations, leaders from the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority, Visit Savannah, the Telfair Museum handed out awards Tuesday morning. Twenty-three businesses participated in the "Holly Days" decorating contest.
The organizers and the winners say the real spoils of a good window is the people that come in and shop.
Johnathan Darcy, who works for 24e on Brought street says: "From the start to the finish, being in the window; people watching you, walking by; they knock on the window; what's going on. Even down to the fact that we're done with the windows people walk by, but they want to come in and see what the holiday spirit is all about."
24e with their rendition of Santa's reindeer took home Most Creative and Best in Show awards.
Other winners include:
- Most Original: Mason's Inc.
- Most Whimsical: Paris Market
- Most Traditional: DC2
- Most Holiday Spirit: Bicycle Link
- Honorable Mention: Fab'rik
The decorated windows should be up until the end of the month.
