$250,000 winning lottery ticket claimed

HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) - The $250,000 winning lottery ticket sold at the Maruti Food Mart in Hardeeville has been claimed by a Bluffton woman.

The woman, who does not wish to release her name, found out she won when she received an urgent phone call from her husband. He told her to sit down and then said, "$You won 250,000." The woman told South Carolina lottery officials she was speechless.

Unbelievable, I haven't slept and my husband hasn't slept either," she said.

The woman told lottery officials that this Christmas will now be a celebration, instead of the frugal one she had planned.

"I feel more than grateful," she said.

The winner numbers were 6, 11, 12, 18, and 56 MB: 12. If the woman had bought the $1 Megaplier, her winning would have been multiplied to $1 million, according to lottery officials.

Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000.
