BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort has earned the Spare the Air award from the South Carolina Dept. of Health and Environmental Control.
The award recognizes companies, groups, communities, schools, local governments and individuals that have voluntarily committed to promote and practice improving air quality in the Palmetto State, according to MCAS Beaufort.
MCAS was recognized for its efforts to conserve energy by replacing inefficient equipment and reducing energy costs.
The air station will be presented the award Thursday.
