SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - On Wednesday morning, organizers of Laughs for Lemonade presented $15,000 to the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center.
Laughs for Lemonade was a comedy event held over the summer at the Lucas Theatre to benefit Mom's Lemonade Fund, which was started by Memorial University Medical Center Dr. Natalie Hogan who lost her mom to ovarian cancer.
"We were very excited about all the money we raised, and the support that was shown that evening when we had our Laughs for Lemonade event, which is now going to be our signature event, even though we do other events as well. So it's tremendous support everyone has shown us," Hogan said.
The mission of the Mom's Lemonade fund is to raise awareness for ovarian cancer, assist with patient's emotional and medical needs, and provide comfort items for patients, family members and caregivers.
