Superintendent opposes LNG near schools

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham County School Board dicussed the hotly debated topic of transporting liquified natural gas near schools.

On November 3, The board voted six to three not to formally oppose the up to 58 truckloads of LNG daily along President Street, Truman Parkway and DeRenne Avenue.

This time, the operation manager for the school district presented more information, but the review was mixed. The superintendent says if they is even a question of safety, he has to oppose the idea.
