SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - They put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms, many even giving up a very special day, but now warriors are finally getting that special day back.
Wednesday soldiers received a wedding, with all their friends and family. The Weddings for Warriors program paid for everything, from the dresses to the reception, to give the troops and their wives a day that they'll never forget.
"It's pretty awesome. We got married pretty quick and we didn't have any family members, so it's really nice to have everyone here with us and get to do it the right way," said newlywed Dustin Thomas.
There was also a very special reception for all of Wednesday's lucky couples and as a very special gift, Marine Master Sergeant Jacob Morrow and his bride received a free photographer courtesy of fallen Richmond Hill Marine, Captain Matthew Freeman.
Freeman's family also attended. They said Freeman and his wife were going to take part in this program when he returned home.
Afterwards, they held a memorial dance for the many other soldiers killed in the line of duty.
