SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Students at Hubert Middle School spent time personalizing greeting cards and sending holiday messages to members of the United States Marine Corps serving overseas during the holiday season.
Those in charge of the project say the students were more than enthusiastic to let our finest in uniform know their service to out country is appreciated.
"Oh they were very excited. They took off with the project when they got their peers involved and just owned it and made sure that everything was right that there was personal messages in the card. And it was just wonderful to see young people do that for people that they had never met before," said Willie Haynes, Hubert Middle School.
The Savannah Marine Corps League provided the names of the Marines to the students for the project.
