Girl Scouts, animal control have Christmas party

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Girl Scouts gathered to sing Christmas carols and to join the Savannah-Chatham Metro Animal Control for their annual Christmas party.

Folks stopped by for photos with Santa, holiday treats and a chance to adopt animals at a low cost. For those thinking about giving a pet as a Christmas gift this year, officers say it's a good idea to make sure the recipient is ready and able to care for a new cat or dog.

"We have good animals in here. We have plenty to select from. We've got over 140 animals in here and we only have 116 kennels, so there's plenty to look at," said Diane Abolt, an animal control volunteer.
