Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Morgan has been selected for promotion to colonel and command of the 165th Medical Group, an element of the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard.
Col. Morgan received his MD degree in 1995. After completing Post Graduate Residency training in 1998, he accepted an assignment to Shaw AFB serving as Medical Flight Commander for the 120th Medical Group. Since 2002, he has served as the Chief of Clinical Services and Flight Surgeon for the 165th Medical Group.
In 2008-2009, then LTC Morgan was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Col. Morgan's military career actually started with his commission in 1981, serving in 177th Air Weapons Control Squadron as an Air Weapons Controller. He served in this capacity until he was accepted into medical school in 1991.
Dr. Morgan's civilian practice and resident are in Columbia, SC.
