Cold could bring record low

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Temperatures on Tuesday night could hit record lows.

It will be clear and very cold Tuesday night with lows in the mid to upper teens inland to the mid 20s along the island, according to the WTOC Doppler Max 11 Weather Lab. Savannah is expected to hit 19 degrees on Tuesday night.

A hard freeze warning remains in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday. The warning was issued for Appling, Bacon, Wayne, Glynn and Ware counties.

A hard freeze warning means that temperatures less than 27 degrees are expected for at least two hours. Appropriate action should be taken to ensure tender vegetation, outdoor pets and exposed water pipes have adequate protection from low temperatures.
