G-8 Summit Protestors Making Plans

Less than a week after the White House officially announced Sea Island in Glynn County would be the site of next year's G-8 Summit, protesters are already making their plans to attend. Governor Sonny Perdue says President Bush chose Sea Island in part because of it's natural barriers, like the Atlantic Ocean, the marshes and Saint Simons Island; however, that isn't stopping protesters.

Through online forums, protesters have been talking about buying one of the multi-million dollar island homes or demonstrating in nearby locations like Savannah. Governor Purdue says he welcomes the protesters as long as they act peacefully. Still, he says they would be barred from Sea Island.

Previous meetings of the G-8, including last year's summit in Evian, France, have drawn thousands of protesters. Next year's summit on Sea Island is expected to bring in just as many demonstrators.
