COLUMBIA, SC (WTOC) – A Beaufort man wins $1 million with his Millionaire Raffle ticket from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The winner, who didn't want to release his name, won with a ticket he bought from the Kangaroo Express in Ridgeland for the Nov. 16 drawing.
He told lottery officials he had never won anything before and "had a good feeling" about his ticket.
The ticketholder had heard the $1 million winning raffle ticket had been claimed, but when the Kangeroo Express manager told him he heard wrong, and that the winner had yet to show up, man had a hunch he was the winner, according to the lottery.
When he got home went Lottery's website and saw that he had the matching numbers and then checked the ticket 20 or so more times to revel in the fact that the numbers matched, according to the lottery.
The winner plans to pay off his mortgage.
Kangaroo Express received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
