SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Teachers and local businesses saw there were several needy families within the Gould Elementary community so they decided to collect gifts and hand them out to ensure that every single child at Gould will have something to open during the holiday break. Families came to pick up the presents on Wednesday and express their gratitude.
"This is the first year that something like this has happened to us-we are very thankful that there are people that help and donate for needy kids," said Anna Swafford from Savannah.
"If it helps them out we are happy anything they ask us to do we work together all of CSX Savannah," said Jim Ramirez of CSX.
Gould Principal Vernon Cole told WTOC they had 90 needy families and every child will have at least one gift to open.
