We have a update on the story of a missing six-year-old autistic child. Charges of kidnapping are pending against the man who lived with the youngster and his mother. Garden City police tell us, six-year-old Chris Davis went to the store with John Brown about 8pm Friday night. Davis' mother got worried and called Garden City police about 3am Saturday when Chris and Davis didn't return. She also told police the little boy was autistic and did not talk and said Brown was in her gold dodge stratus.
Chatham and Savannah police were notified of the situation and almost 24 hours after they left, Brown and the boy were spotted near the corner of 52nd Street and Duane Court.
"Based on good cooperation between ourselves and the Savannah Police Department, Savannah beat officers were able to find the vehicle," said Capt. Steve Stratman of the Garden City PD. "They were also able to find the boy and a suspect. The suspect is in custody at this time."
John Brown is in the Chatham County jail on a felony warrant from Effingham County. The little boy is back home with his mother and Garden City police are considering kidnapping charges against Brown.
