POOLER, GA (WTOC) - The Godley Station School cafeteria was packed on Thursday morning for a military appreciation breakfast with teachers, students and staff. The school has a large military family population and many military parents are now home for the holidays. Teachers wanted to do something to say thank you and pay tribute.
"We want our students to understand how much these families give to us to ensure our freedom and our safety everyday. How much their families give when their parents are gone and we just want our students to understand and respect," said Counselor Janet Baxter.
Organizers say the breakfast would have been impossible without help from the community.
