About 230 Third ID Troops Return

Another group of Third Infantry Division soldiers is home. Their plane arrived at Hunter Army Airfield about 11pm last night, and then the troops were bussed to Fort Stewart to be reunited with their families and friends. After a brief ceremony, the soldiers were finally released into the arms of their loved ones.

This group is made up of approximately 230 soldiers from the 92nd Engineer Battalion, the Black Diamonds. The soldiers can construct everything from roads to airfields and base camps. Many of those who returned overnight were able to hold their children for the first time. The men and women will now get to enjoy a well-earned rest before returning to duty.
