Monday, Marks discussed Consumer Report's latest Holiday Shopping Poll. Marks said shoppers are spending less this year, averaging $679, down $20 from last year. Despite cautious spending plans, he said consumers remain generally optimistic, and half of all adults are still enthusiastic about the holiday season.
