BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - Beaufort County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting between a man and a towtruck operator.
It happened Friday night in front of a home on live Oak Walk Drive in the Edgefield neighborhood in Bluffton.
Authorities said Carlos Olivera, 34, was shot and killed after getting into an argument with towtruck driver Preston Oates.
Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner said Olivera and Oates disagreed over whether Olivera had properly parked his minivan.
Nelson Olivera said his brother showed Oates a handgun tucked in
the waistband of his pants, but never pointed it.
Oates said he acted in self defense. At this point no charges have been filed.
