SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Salvation Army Ladies Auxilary at the Marshes Retirement Home presented Savannah Chatham Metro Police with teddy bears for children stuck in traumatic situations.

For the last 23 years, the ladies have dressed and donated the stuffed animals. "A lot of times those officers are in the trenches and they have those bears when they are in need," said Jan Salor with the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary.

The idea for the project started as a teddy bear tree at the Landings and Jan Salor has grown it into what it is now.
