SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Patients from all over the country are coming to Savannah for a specialized prosthesis. The patients visiting on Wednesday had cancer behind the knee and had surgery to use their ankle as a knee joint.
They came to Savannah for a specifically designed prosthesis to help them walk again. The designer, Steve Miller, actually has the prosthesis himself.
"I could barely even walk. The first time I met someone who designed me a really good prosthesis it really changed my life. And that's what got me into this field," Miller with Hanger Prosethetics/Orthotics told WTOC.
Some patients came from as far as away as Rhose Island to get their prothesis.
