Residents and Red Cross Clean Up After Flooding

People in Savannah are spending the weekend cleaning up after heavy rain flooded parts of the city. Residents and neighbors scoured out flooded apartments and homes, tossing out what couldn't be cleaned.

The American Red Cross is going door to door through the flooded areas, helping more than a hundred neighbors affected by the storms. Red Cross volunteers say they're trying to reach all of them to assess the damage. "We're looking for water damage," explains Sharyn Baggett with the American Red Cross, "to see what damage was done. We're also inviting anyone who had damage to come see us."

If you need help, you can stop by the American Red Cross office at 422 Habersham Street in Savannah. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
