Parents and staff attend character education training

POOLER, GA (WTOC) - Parents and staff of Godley Station School attended character education training at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.

Museum staff presented the six pillars of character and how to incorporate the pillars into the school environment.

"The character counts program falls right in with the mission of the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in that our promise to everyone is that we will preserve the memories and character of the Eighth Air Force from WWII to the present and that we will also teach the character that those guys had that won war then and bring it on in to the future and teach it to the children we have now," said Brenda Elmgren.

The Character Counts Program has been a huge success. The six pillars of character are truthfulness, respect, responsibility, fairness and citizenship.
